Earlier today, Samsung released a software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Going by the changelog and other details, the only thing it seemed to bring was the June 2026 security patch, which fixed 45 security issues. However, it packs another surprise for the users.
As it turns out, the new firmware also brings two new Galaxy AI features from the Galaxy S26 series — Priority Notifications and Files Summaries — which the device was expected to get with the One UI 8.5 update but didn’t (via Samsung Community).
Priority Notifications analyzes notifications and displays the important ones at the top of the notifications list, making you notice them better and preventing you from missing them. Files Summaries, on the other hand, provides a short description of what a PDF or a TXT file is about, helping you understand them quickly and manage them better.
Samsung has released the latest update only in its home country, South Korea. Going by the brand’s software update rollout history, it may release the new firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in other countries over the next few days. To check its availability in your region and to get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
